In Florida, facelift fees average between $10,000 and $18,000, and mini facelifts average between $7,500 and $10,000. However, there are many providers performing these procedures for much less, and many who charge much more. This post covers the factors that go into determining the cost of a facelift or a mini facelift.
What Is the Average Cost of a Facelift in the United States?
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, in the U.S., the average facelift cost is $11,395. In general, facelifts tend to cost more in large cities and less in smaller cities and towns. The price of a facelift in New York City or Los Angeles can be much greater than what a patient will pay in smaller cities. The cost of a facelift in Florida, including at our Melbourne, FL, practice, is quite competitive compared to other regions. However, pinpointing the cost of your facelift isn’t possible until you meet with a plastic surgeon who can discuss your concerns and evaluate your specific characteristics.
Factors Influencing Facelift Cost
Besides the geographic location of the practice where you have your facelift performed, several other factors can affect the cost of the procedure. These include:
A Surgeon’s Expertise and Reputation
The experience and reputation of a surgeon can significantly impact the cost of a facelift. Highly skilled surgeons with extensive experience and a track record of excellent results may charge more than a surgeon with less experience. While it may be tempting to choose a less expensive option, remember that expertise is crucial for achieving safe and satisfactory outcomes.
Facility Fees
The location where the surgeon performs surgery affects the overall cost. I perform facelifts and other plastic surgery procedures at my own on-site surgery center, Riverview Surgery Center. The state-of-the-art facility is fully accredited by Quad A (formerly AAAASF), an independent agency that’s considered the gold standard of accreditation. Hospital-based procedures typically cost more than those performed in outpatient surgical centers.
Anesthesia Costs
The type and duration of anesthesia required for your facelift contribute to the total cost. Longer, more complex procedures may require more of the anesthesia provider, increasing the overall expense.
Combining Procedures
A facelift is often combined with other facial rejuvenation procedures, either surgical or nonsurgical, to create more impressive overall results. For example, I might recommend combining a facelift with eyelid surgery or an intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment to refresh your appearance.
The Cost of Facelift Techniques
Each patient has unique needs to accomplish their goals, and the facelift technique that’s right for you may be less or more invasive than the technique used for another patient.
Traditional Full Facelift
This comprehensive approach addresses signs of aging across the lower two-thirds of the face, including sagging cheeks, nasolabial folds, and jowls. This technique offers the most dramatic results and is suitable for those with significant signs of aging.
Mini Facelift
Also known as a short-scar facelift, this less invasive option focuses on the lower face, jawline, and neck. Mini facelifts are generally more affordable than a full facelift and are ideal if you have mild to moderate signs of aging. The recovery is also shorter.
Mid-Face Lift
A mid-face lift, which focuses on the cheeks and lower eyelid areas, is effective for addressing sagging in the middle portion of the face and can be combined with other procedures for more comprehensive rejuvenation.
Neck Lift
Sometimes, the neck is a patient’s primary concern, and a standalone neck lift is the best technique to accomplish their cosmetic goals. The before-and-after photos below show the difference that a neck lift can make.
Choosing a Facelift Surgeon
Even though cost is a factor when selecting a plastic surgeon, it shouldn’t be the primary issue when making your decision. I, like many other surgeons, offer financing to help you pay for facelift surgery. It’s also important to choose a board-certified plastic surgeon with excellent credentials and a reputation borne out through patient reviews.
